COSY, SAFE, PRIVATE
This 360 sq. ft. space was the master suite on the second floor of a family home, now remodeled into an independent living space. Access is by exterior stairs and balcony extending along the back of the house. The main 16' x 12' area has French doors to a Juliet balcony and a skylight to view the night sky and brighten the day. Unfurnished, but some furnishings available if desired. The kitchenette area includes food and dish storage, a sink, microwave, hotplate and small fridge, with washer and dryer under the counter. The bathroom includes toilet, shower and separate Jacuzzi tub. Unit is heated by radiant floor heat with its own separate thermostat. Rent includes all utilities and internet access.
The house is in a quiet neighborhood near the new grade school off of Discovery Road. There are three living spaces: Besides the studio unit advertised herein, the first floor and a second floor front bedroom is occupied by the retired owner. There is another rental apartment above the garage that shares the exterior stairs and second level deck with this unit, currently rented to a quiet adult. There are two off street parking spaces shared by the two rentals and the owner uses two other parking spaces. The rent is $1050 per month which includes all utilities. Initial payment is first and last month's rent plus security deposit = $3,150 + $200 non-refundable cleaning deposit [pet deposit additional], Total: $3,350.
This is an alcohol, tobacco, drug, and gun free home. Absolutely no smokers in the unit or on the grounds. Prefer a tenant with quiet life-style, steady income, long term stay intentions. Small, quiet animal considered with pet deposit. Must be compatible with owner's cats who are friendly and enjoy spending time outdoors. Perfect home for a quiet, responsible working single adult.
The retired owner/landlord, with some gradual age related disabilities, is in need of occasional help in the areas of computer tinkering, lifting/carrying, gardening & grounds upkeep, rare drives out of town and would consider minor rent reduction for cheerful assistance.
If interested please reply with enough information so I can do an online background search. [Full name, locations you have lived for the last five years and contact information required. Something about your interests, life-style and why you chose Port Townsend would be helpful.] Upon application, after viewing, you will need to provide proof of steady employment / sufficient income and references.
Because rentals are scarce in Port Townsend I usually get quite a few inquiries each time I advertise one of my two rental units. Finding the right tenant is time consuming for me and I recognize how difficult it is for tenants to find a place to rent so lets not waste each other's time. The more information you provide the better your chances. I always take down ads as soon as a unit is rented. If you found it online it is available. I do not text and my landline phone does not record messages so you must use email to respond to this ad and I look at my emails several times a day. My initial elimination test is as follows: I will not be replying to inquires that simply ask if the unit is still available or ones like this response that I got the last time it was advertised, in total: "Hey! I saw this for rent and wanted more details."
