I’m looking for a change of scenery this winter- perhaps you seeking a refuge from the city and we can swap homes for a little while.
Me: I’m a mid-thirties professional working full-time remotely, I do public health research. I travel often to NYC and would like to stay a bit longer this time.
You: Perhaps you are seeking the slower west coast living for a while. Do you have a penchant for artisan donuts, yummy restaurants, and outdoor activities? Do you have an apartment, ideally in Brooklyn, to swap?
When: Flexible, but somewhere between 2-8 weeks total. Any time between Jan-April 2023 (also flexible).
What: I am offering my entire two bedroom home (private-no roommates) in Arbor Lodge neighborhood with one cool cat included, Navann. He mostly just needs pets and love, and also a late afternoon/early evening feeding of wet food. His breakfast is dispensed by an automatic feeder.
My house is best of both worlds. It is in the heart of urban Portland, but it is also tucked away on a quiet street on a HUGE lot giving Portland-esque urban farm vibes. Large front and back decks let you watch the world go by from comfy rocking chairs:) My home is 1-2 blocks from all the essentials (grocery store, take-out/restaurants, Walgreens, UPS, bank). Portland has easy access to the outdoors. Mt Hood offers incredible vistas, hiking and winter sports (skiing, snowboarding., snow-shoeing). The Oregon coast is 90 minutes west and is the perfect day trip.
Kitchen: Fully equipped and stocked with cooking appliances (dutch oven, Vitamix, Instapot, immersion blender, popcorn maker, etc).
Living/Dining room: Plenty of comfy seating, a new projector with Apple TV(I have Netflix, HBO, Hulu) , and gas fireplace to warm up in the winter time.
Bedrooms: 2 bedrooms, one with full sized Leesa mattress, the other with a Queen quality mattress foam/blend mattress. I have over 8 pillows of different shapes and sizes to choose from:) One bedroom has a sit/stand desk.
Bathroom: Clawfoot bathtub, bidet, and shower.
Outdoors: Huge wrap around front porch and back deck.
Basement: Utilities and storage

I do like to cook, and I am learning more about pastry cooking and eating more whole, vegan, organic, home-cooked/homegrown foods (I do eat meat sometimes, but if you're fully vegan, I won't bring anything into the home that is not vegan). I'm a friendly guy, have a lot going for myself, and bring good energy into the space. I'm introverted but light up in crowds and around people. A generally happy-go-lucky kind of guy with a very positive attitude.

Hi, I’m 27, I’m a quiet person, clean who respects other space. I’m into fitness a lot so we can be gym partners, I still have my membership to LA fitness which I can bring a guest. I’ve recently been homeless due to my parents internal issues. I was doing hotel to hotel at first but now I’ve resorted to sleeping in subways. I was out here in sweats and only sandals for 2 months. The weather is getting worse, really looking for a room or any elp. I’m looking into doing IT work so I would work remotely at times.
